fiesty little kid...

Let me just tell you we've got our hands full with this kid...
He's got the funniest personality.
He's still into this screaming/squealing thing...
He has been OBSESSED with our Christmas tree.
He could have cared less about Christmas presents.
He LOVES his red wagon & loves to go for rides in it.
He's giving tons of kisses to everyone but has to add a little "bite" to it.
(It hurts like crazy!!!)
He loves to carry around his drumsticks.
He won't keep his socks on, but does ok with his houseshoes.
He's figured out how to feed Kristy.
He pulls hair really hard.
He'll pull your glasses off too.
I have to sneak open the refrig b/c he wants to stand in front of it when it's open.
Same with the freezer
He'll open the dishwasher if Mommy doesn't have it locked.
He still won't sit while getting a bath. He never has.
He's a rough & tumble kind of guy.
He's always sporting bruises & bumps.
He's obsessed with cleaning. (mops, brooms, vacuums, etc...)
He loves to eat & suck on leaves.
He still loves baby food.
He LOVES his milk. (whole milk now, yay!)
He's actually underweight.
I wonder why? Could it be that he never sits down??
He's adorable....
He's a MESS!!!
I love him just the way he is!

Oh, and I just finally had to take the tree down tonight. I just can't stand him getting into it every night anymore. Here's a look at it before I took it down & outside.....

I sure hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did and the celebrating keeps going...Dan turns 31 this Thursday. Old man!!!! Happy birthday Buddy!!

this morning...

my child is now dust mopping. :) I think he's going to go into the cleaning business when he's grown. :)

this is a random picture I took this morning. This is my favorite spot to read & try to get some rest. It's our guest bedroom, so cozy...

and here's Finn resting after his hard work of cleaning the floors...

Have a good Monday!!!

My little dude is 1 today!!! This past week I have been reminiscing a lot about this time last year. Now I can understand why my mother would always say on our b-days, "I remember the day you were born...." b/c I feel that same way! I am just so happy that I have this little guy in my life & I truly feel very blessed. Words can't describe how much I love him...

So today for his b-day I took him to McDonald's for his 1st happy meal. Of course, he liked it! I think he liked the ginger snaps I brought from home for dessert though the best. :) I posted those pics on facebook.

But here he is tonight as he was playing with his mickey mouse balloon. Some of the pics are blurry, but I just kept snapping away. Enjoy!!

mommy's little helper

Finn has always been obsessed with the vacuum cleaner. So yesterday Dan & I were busy around the house. He was in & out of the house as he was getting rid of stuff & cleaning out the garage. I was FINALLY taking down my fall stuff & putting my Christmas things up. Dan turned the vacuum on & handed it over to Finn & here you go.....

he turned into mommy's little helper. I seriously think I use this way too much as Finn actually KNOWS how to vacuum. He was switching hands & everything. I obviously use this too much & should cut back some, don't you think? HA! I do use it everyday though b/c with a dog......well you know. Anyways, he literally vacuumed all around the house until he ran the battery dead. Then he got mad. Oh well, it's fully charged today for him to go at it again!! :)

Yesterday we went & got our tree. Our nice friend Erik picked us up in his truck & took us up to Home Depot to pick one up. We had already decided to get a very small tree seeing as Finn will be 1 on Tuesday & will probably end up tearing the whole thing up anyways. So we went straight to the 5-6 ft ones & Dan picked out one that was already wrapped up in the plastic stuff. The lady that worked at Home Depot couldn't figure out why we wanted that tree.

She said "Don't you want to undo the string & open it & look at it?"
We said "no".
She said "Wouldn't you like a little fuller one, that ones not very full?"
We said "no".
She said "Are you sure?"
We said "We have a 1 year old."
She said "Ohhhh....I see. :)"

Too funny. Anyways, here's our tree.

I don't think it's too bad. It is the smallest one we've ever gotten, we call it our Charlie Brown tree. :)

This morning when Finn woke up early & I brought him out to feed him his bottle I had all the lights out except for the tree lights. He just looked at it in what I would say was wonder. Then he wanted to touch it. UH OH!!! Here we go........

This child..

This child of mine has been doing this lately...

screaming/screeching/squealing at the top of his lungs...especially at restaurants. Lovely. Any advice on how I can stop this? It's too loud to ignore(especially when you're out in public) and he thinks when you cover his mouth it's a game. HELP!!!!
